Our Pastor Laura Stewart

Rev. Laura E. Stewart was raised in the United Methodist Church in the Williamsport, PA area. At the age of 15, she felt a call to ministry and began pursing ordination as an Elder. She earned a BA in Religion from Lycoming College (2006) and MDIV from Wesley Theological Seminary (2009). Laura was ordained in 2011.
From Jan 2005-June 2005 Laura provided pulpit supply as a lay speaker for Mackeyville UMC. From July 2005-June 2006, She provided pulpit supply as a lay speaker for Picture Rocks UMC. From July 2006-June 2014 she served as pastor of Fort Loudon and Edenville UMCs.
Laura loves ecumenical work and creating community for all people. She has taught adult and children’s Bible studies, has participated in numerous Vacation Bible Schools, led a Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Club, organized and participated in school supply give-a-ways, and has worked with other churches for community services. Most recently, Laura helped to coordinate a community effort to create a zero barrier cold weather shelter in Mechanicsburg. In addition to preaching, Laura also likes to portray women of the Bible and bring their voices and stories alive. Her greatest desire is to help the Church bring the least of these to Christ.
Pastor Laura as 3 children whom she adores-Mabel, Abigail, and Michael. They have a spunky Pitbull/Lab Mix, Kai, a bunny, a hairless guinea pig, and a beta fish. The family enjoys spending time with one another going on adventures to local parks and nearby sights, visiting friends and family, watching movies, and baking/cooking together.
Our Music DirectorCarl Nieweld
Is an employee with TE Connectivity on the Global Learning and Development Team who expresses his faith in Christ through music ministry. He graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education (Percussion Major/Piano Minor). and from Penn State University with a Master's of Science Degree in Training and Organizational Development. He previously served as music director at Rockville UMC and Carlisle UMC. Carl has also held leading and supporting stage roles in local theaters and was a drummer in a professional band. He lives with his wife Barbara and they have 5 children (and 2 dogs!)
